We have been working hard on a new mob update, which includes changes to mobs, loot, XP, and potions.
As Game Designers, it is our priority to ensure everyone is having a great time on the server, and always have something to do. We’ve known for quite some time that our looting system, mobs and in general grinding experience can be made more fun and rewarding, so we’ve decided to re-work the entire system.
Every mob on the server will now drop a ‘Loot Bag’ between the tiers from 1-7. All of the loot bag tiers depends on the mob you’ve killed, as the easier mobs will drop lower tiers, and harder mobs will drop the higher tiers.
All Loot Bags can be traded for specific potion ingredients at Mr. Mulpeppers or the Sr. Prefect which gives everyone the option to choose what kind of ingredients they want, whenever they want. Because it is now easier for a higher year to get a low tier loot bag from a mob, we’ve made it so the higher year you are, the smaller chances you’ll have of getting a low tier loot bag. This ensures that it is fair grinding between every year. All mobs will always drop XP bottles (0-6 bottles).
A lot of new mobs were added to the server, which you can read more about in the library. Find the sparkling enchantment tables in the school library, and interact with it. It’ll open up a menu which will give you a few options. We made most of our mobs easier to defeat, and more unique.
We have also decided to split the prices of the potion books in half, so they’re now way easier to get. It is also important to remember that Potion Credits can now be traded for House Points, which should now also be easier to get. Get Lacerum Incisis while you still can! You never know how it’ll be achievable in the future.
A lot of the year 1 combat spells were also buffed and changed a bit to make fighting mobs easier. Magic costs have been lowered or removed from a lot of the year 1 spells.
We hope you enjoy this update, this is not the exploration but simply an update to make the server a better place whilst we work on bigger updates. If you have any feedback, please feel free to suggest it here in the comments or in the ‘Ideas and Suggestions’ forum.
